Dr. Collier obtained her B.S. Ed. and M.Ed. in English Education from Georgia Southwestern State University in 2000 and 2003, respectively.  She earned her Ed.D. in Curriculum Studies from Georgia Southern University in 2009.  Dr. Collier began her teaching career in 2000.  After teaching for a year at Dodge County High School in Eastman, she spent the following nine years at Houston County High School.  She was very excited to be on the inaugural faculty at Veterans High School and to serve as chair of the English department.  Dr. Collier has taught an array of English courses, including Advanced Placement English Language and Composition, Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition, American Literature, 10th grade Literature, SAT prep and Journalism (both yearbook and newspaper).  Additionally, she teaches literature and composition courses on the college level.  In addition to her teaching duties, Dr. Collier also is the head coach for the Warhawks tennis team. She and her daughter reside in Perry. In her free time, Dr. Collier enjoys cooking, reading, running, listening to music, traveling, and gardening.
