Bio
Mrs. Philius has been teaching high school science for over 16 years, with over a decade of those at Veterans High School. She has taught Biology, Physical Science, Anatomy & Physiology, Environmental Science, and Forensic Science. She received a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Georgia Southern University and a Master of Arts in Secondary Science Education from Piedmont University, and an Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership at Georgia College and State University. This year, Mrs. Philius will be teaching Forensic Science all day and she looks forward to the excitement of laboratory investigations and mock crime scenes with her inquisitive students. She will also be serving as Student Council Sponsor and as a member of the Senior Student Support Team and the New Teacher Support Committee.
Mrs. Philius has been married to her husband, Eric, since 2016 and they have a wonderful 4-yr old son, Ky. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is a member of Fellowship Bible Baptist Church and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
