Bio

Mrs. Shelton is an experienced educator, currently teaching Honors Government, AP Government & Politics, and AP Psychology at Veterans High School. She also sponsors the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society, fostering a community of students passionate about social studies.

Mrs. Shelton's academic journey began at Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in History with minors in religion, economics, political science, and teaching. She furthered her education with a Master of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University in 2022 and an Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Georgia College and State University in 2024.

Her teaching career started at Taylor Street Middle School in Griffin, Georgia, where she taught for 4 years. For the next 12 years, she dedicated herself to homeschooling students and teaching at Veritas Classical Schools. Now in her sixth year at Veterans High School, Mrs. Shelton continues to inspire students in American Government and Psychology.

Outside the classroom, Mrs. Shelton enjoys spending time with her husband and four children, running, and reading. Go Warhawks!
