Bio

Mrs. Renee Shelton is an experienced educator who currently teaches Honors Government, AP U.S. Government & Politics, and AP Psychology at Veterans High School. She serves as the Social Studies Department Chair and sponsors both the Rho Kappa Social Studies Honor Society and Engage, a civic engagement club that empowers students to become informed and active citizens.

Mrs. Shelton earned her Bachelor of Science in History from Lee University in Cleveland, Tennessee, with minors in religion, economics, political science, and teaching. She later completed a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Georgia Southern University in 2022 and an Educational Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership from Georgia College and State University in 2024.

Her teaching career began at Taylor Street Middle School in Griffin, Georgia. She then spent 12 years homeschooling and teaching at Veritas Classical Schools before joining the faculty at Veterans High School, where she is now in her seventh year. Passionate about helping students grow as thinkers, leaders, and citizens, Mrs. Shelton brings energy and purpose to every lesson.
