Mr. Wiegert began his teaching career in 2008 in Bleckley County and started teaching in Houston County in 2022 where he taught for two years at Northside Middle School. He is originally from the upper Midwest (Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota) but has lived in Georgia since 1996. Mr. Wiegert received his bachelors degree from Concordia University (St. Paul) in 1994, masters degree from National University in 2008, and specialist degree from Georgia Southwestern in 2024. Mr. Wiegert has taught a variety of courses over his teaching career and this year will be teaching Biology and Physical Science.

Mr. Wiegert has been married to his wife Emily (Veteran's Graphic Design teacher) since 2003 and they have two beautiful daughters, Lucy (a junior at Young Harris College on a golf scholarship) and Abby (a freshman at Middle Georgia State University with plans on becoming a teacher). In his free time Mr. Wiegert enjoys outdoor activities (hiking, golfing, pickleball), spending time with family, reading, Christian music, and going on cruises. Mr. Wiegert is a member of Christ Lutheran Church.
